The shadow shifted a bit, as if it was laughing. And then it did.
"You know me. Sunny days are always the best."
He always seemed to shimmer when he spoke. He had no mouth that she could see, no features, being a shadow and all, but his very being seemed to vibrate when he made his presence known. His voice was low and deep and quiet, like if the sensation of lonely could speak. She loved that voice.

Kamari slowly returned inside her hive, which she had discovered was shaped like a large tower surrounded by fields of green grass. How strange it was, too, that the sky was red!
